Implementer and MKS Source Integration
4 Complete the fields as required. For detailed information on this panel, see the
MKS Implementer 2006 Release Management Guide.
In the Based on environment field, type the environment name, or position the
cursor in the field, and press F4=Select Environment and use option 1=Select to
select an environment on the Environment Selection window.
In the Always checkout from MKS Source field, specify Y to always check out source
from MKS Source. With this option, native source member sequence numbers and
source change dates are not maintained when a member is checked out.
The default value N allows you to specify the source check out location as either
MKS Source or as a local repository, which maintains native source member line
sequence numbers and source change dates.
The Archived by MKS Source field is view-only when the field value is N. This the
required value to change the Based on environment field value as described in the next
step. The value automatically changes to Y after successfully completing the
environment population. Performing an environment population is the only way to set
the field value to Y (you cannot manually change the value to Y). If the job no longer
exists, for example, it was deleted from queue, you can change the value to N, and then
rerun the environment population. If the job fails, you must first resolve the cause of the
failure before rerunning the job.
IMPORTANT Once the environment population successfully completes and the
Archived by MKS Source field is set to Y, you can change the value back to N to stop
archiving. This action displays a message to inform you that any development
activity performed while environment archiving is not active causes interim gaps in
the archived versions if you later reactivate archiving.
5 To perform the environment population, press F6=Enable MKS Source Archiving.
NOTE Function F6=Enable MKS Source Archiving is available only when: The
integration is enabled in MKS Source Setup, the product is archived in MKS Source,
the product/version is either *HEADREV or *VERSION, and the Archived by
MKS Source value is N.
If the product/version has the MKS Source Devpath value *VERSION, Implementer
verifies the development path exists in MKS Source. If it does not exist, a message
confirms that you must create the development path in MKS Source before performing
the environment population. For details, see “Product Version Setup and Development
Paths” on page 283.
Once all validations pass, a confirmation window displays.
