Chapter 5: MKS Integrity Integration
282
5 To continue, type Y, and press ENTER.
A series of validations ensure you have the required permissions. A message notifies of
problems trying to create the product project, or if the product or subproject already
exist in MKS Source.
IMPORTANT Once you archive a product in MKS Source, the Archived by
MKS Source field is editable and can be changed to N if needed. If you change the
value to N to deactivate archiving, a message notifies you that interim development
activity performed while environment archiving is not active causes gaps in the
version history if you later reactivate archiving. Interim source changes are not
captured separately in the archives while archiving is off; however, the next
promoted version captures any changes made since the last archived promotion.
You must confirm your request to deactivate archiving. To re-establish the
integration, additional setup work is required. Any change to the Archived by
MKS Source field value causes a source reload in MKS Source to ensure the server is
refreshed with current data.
Once all edits are passed, a confirmation panel confirms creation of the subproject. On
the Product Maintenance panel, the Archived by MKS Source field updates to Y.
MKS Source creates the product subproject, for example, the product Inventory has the
subproject INVENTORY/project.pj under the base product project c:/
BaseProductProject/project.pj as illustrated next.
6 Repeat steps 2–5 for each product to archive in MKS Source.
NOTE Permissions for each product subproject are inherited from the base product
project.
