Chapter 5: MKS Integrity Integration 276 2 In the Integration enabled field, type Y. NOTE Once the integration is active, if you later decide to disable it after using MKS Source archiving, a message notifies you that all products configured for the integration must have the Archived by MKS Source set to N before you can disable the integration on this panel. 3 In the Communications timeout, Server, Server browser port, MKS Source User ID, and Password fields, do either of the following: Press F16=Copy MKS Integrity Setup to import the values defined on the MKS Integrity Setup panel. Use this option when MKS Source and MKS Integrity are located on the same server. Complete the fields as described in the following table. Use this option when MKS Source and MKS Integrity are located on different servers and/or use different user IDs. 4 In the Base Product project and Base Environment project fields, specify the values as described in the table on page 277. 5 Press F7=Test to ensure communications are active and a connection can be established. If communications are successful, the System available field value changes to Y, and a message at the bottom of the panel confirms the status. Continue with the next step. If communications are not successful, you must resolve the communication problem before continuing. Once resolved, continue with the next step. 6 Press ENTER. The two base projects you specified validate in MKS Source. An error displays if problems occur attempting to access the information. After resolving the error, press ENTER to update the information. Field Description MKS Source current status System available MKS Source Setup Field Descriptions Indicates if communications are active and the integration between Implementer and MKS Source is enabled at the system level. Yes: Communications are active and the integration is functioning. Required value to receive edit checks on the remaining fields on this panel. No: Communications are inactive and the integration is not functional.
Field Description MKS Source Setup Field Descriptions Implementer and MKS Source Integration MKS Source connection setup The following fields define the communication parameters that allow Implementer to integrate with MKS Source. Integration enabled Specify whether the integration between Implementer and MKS Source is active. Yes: The integration is active. Specify Y to activate the integration. No: The integration is not active. Specify N to deactivate the integration. You can also use this setting to save current values not yet finalized while troubleshooting communication problems. Communications timeout Number of seconds Implementer waits for a valid response after contacting MKS Integrity Server running MKS Source. Only used when MKS Source is used for source archiving. If communications between Implementer and MKS Integrity Server are slow, set this to a higher number to prevent time outs during normal usage, such as if the MKS Integrity Server is available but not responding in a timely manner due to heavy traffic. Server IP address or host name of MKS Integrity Server running MKS Source. Used for all communications between Implementer and MKS Integrity Server. Must be a host name or IP address, not a URL that begins with http:// or https://. Can be the same server or a different server than that specified in the MKS Integrity Setup panel. Do not enclose the value in quotes. Server browser port The port number used to communicate to MKS Integrity Server running MKS Source. Specify a value between 1–65535. MKS Source User ID User profile that has administrative rights in MKS Source. This user ID is used to test the connection to MKS Integrity Server, and is the impersonation user ID used to proxy all commands between Implementer and MKS Source. Must be the same user ID as described in “Creating the Integration User” on page 264. Casesensitive field—the case specified in MKS Source must be specified here. Password Password of the MKS Source user ID specified in the previous field. Non display field that displays as blank when typing the password value. Case-sensitive field—the case specified in MKS Source must be specified here. Base Product project Specify the base product project in MKS Source that all product subprojects are created under. The project is validated in MKS Source; thus, it must exist in MKS Source prior to referencing here. Type the value exactly as it exists in the MKS Source project directory (including the directory, file name, and file extension), for example, c:/BaseProductProject/project.pj. a 277
