Set a User’s Default Issue Management System
Converting From DesignTracker to MKS Integrity
Setting a user’s default issue management system is required only when the conversion of
DesignTracker data is gradual, rather than a one-time conversion.
Each user enrolled in Implementer is set automatically to use the default issue tracking
system as defined in the MKS Integrity setup, option 47 on the Implementer Menu. Once you
convert to MKS Integrity and enable co-existence, all users are set to use MKS Integrity. If
some users will continue transitional use of DesignTracker, after converting to MKS Integrity
you can re-enable each user that will continue to use DesignTracker.
Generally, whichever system a user is set up for determines the text that displays on all
Implementer panels and reports. Thus, when using MKS Integrity the term “issue” is used.
When using DesignTracker the term “design request” is used. For example, when a user set
up to use MKS Integrity displays the Workbench, the field name is Issue, when the field
value may actually contain DR numbers if they are filtered to a lock associated with a user set
up to use DesignTracker. Although the MKS Integrity user is able to view the DR number,
they are restricted from using or changing the lock detail because they cannot manipulate
DRs through Implementer. The exception to this rule is when displaying activity—each user,
regardless of their default issue management system, can view the activity of other users.
By design, Implementer does not allow a single user to use both MKS Integrity and
DesignTracker under the same Implementer user profile. However, you can work around
this and permit the ability to work in both systems by issuing two different iSeries user
profiles. For example, this might be useful for some administrators or team leaders during
transition to the new system. You can simplify this step by copying existing user profiles.
When changing the user profile or environment values, the applicable MKS Integrity fields
are changeable based on the default issue management system as defined in the
MKS Integrity Setup, not the current users override.
To set the issue management system for a user in Implementer
1 From the Implementer Menu, type option 41, Users, and press ENTER. The Work with
User Profiles panel displays.
2 Type option 2=Select next to the user profile, and press ENTER. The Change User Profile
panel displays.
3 Press PAGE DOWN to display the second Change User Profile panel.
