Chapter 5: MKS Integrity Integration
242
7 From your MKS Integrity Client install location, copy file mksclient.jar from the
/lib directory to the iSeries you mapped to in steps 1–5.
To create the special command
Define the special command for each applicable *QAC and *PRD environment. For detailed
information on special commands, see “Special Command Processing” on page 255.
When promoting changes from development to QA or from QA to production, the issue
updates to reflect the current location and status. The update runs each time a promotion
request targets an environment that has the IUPDCI command defined as a special
command. The actual update occurs after the move portion of the promotion request
successfully completes. When the promotion request is at a status of completed, you can
access MKS Integrity to view the updates.
In the following example, the special command is defined for a QA environment:
IUPDCI RQS(#RQSNBR) NEWSTATE('"In QA"')
IMPORTANT The value for NEWSTATE has embedded blanks; therefore, you must
enclose it first in single quotes (' ') and then in double quotes (" ") as illustrated.
IUPDCI Command Parameters
Request Number
Specify the promotion request number to process the special command for. The substitution
variable #RQSNBR processes the command for all promotion requests that target the
environment. This is a seven character alphanumeric field.
New issue state
Specify the new state value to assign to the issue. This is 20 character alphanumeric field.
Mixed-case entry is supported.
Enable Promotions From MKS Integrity
This section describes the additional set up required in Implementer to create and promote
Implementer requests from within MKS Integrity. This is an optional feature.
The setup involves tasks in both MKS Integrity and Implementer. For information on the
MKS Integrity tasks, see “Enable Promotions From MKS Integrity” on page 212. For an
overview of the feature, see “Promoting Implementer Requests From MKS Integrity” on
page 201.
