Chapter 5: MKS Integrity Integration
To install the Implementer Server service
1 Optionally modify the install-service.bat file as follows:
The default service name of the server is MKS Implementer Server. Change the
SERVICENAME environment variable to specify a different service name. This is only
necessary if more than one Implementer server is running on a single PC.
To explicitly define the directory where the server runs, change the SERVERDIR
environment variable as needed.
2 Execute the install-service.bat file. This removes the existing Implementer Server
service if it is already set up and installs a new service with any new parameters you
optionally defined.
IMPORTANT After performing an upgrade to the Implementer Server, you must reinstall
the Implementer Server service by running the install-service.bat file.
If you previously modified the file, for example, changed the service name, you
must re-enter the changes before executing the file.
Install and Configure Implementer Server on UNIX
Implementer Server includes the script runserver.sh that allows you to install and run the
server on a variety of UNIX variants. This document assumes Solaris.
Installing and configuring Implementer Server on UNIX requires the assistance of someone
who is familiar with both the iSeries and UNIX, including basic shell operation. It also
requires:
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4, appropriate for the system, must be installed.
To verify the JRE version, issue the ‘java -version’ command. You can download
many JREs from http://java.com/en/download.
A standard shell scripting language, for example, sh, ksh, bash.
To install Implementer Server on UNIX
1 Using your preferred copy method, copy the entire Implementer Server subdirectory
from the IFS on the iSeries to the new directory on the UNIX system. The default, IFS
installation location of Implementer Server is:
/MKS/Implementer/MKSIM/server
If using FTP, you must use ASCII mode for all files that have .properties, .policy,
.sh, and .xml extensions.
2 Optional: Turn on the execute permission on the runserver.sh script using chmod.
3 Optional: Delete the JRE subdirectory from the server directory (it applies to Windows
systems only).
