IMPORTANT The following setup tasks are required only to promote Implementer requests from within MKS Integrity. If you do not plan to use this alternate promotion feature, go to “Implementer Setup and Administration” on page 216 and complete the Implementer setup as described. Enable Promotions From MKS Integrity This is an optional feature that allows you to create and promote Implementer requests from within MKS Integrity. This feature has setup tasks in both MKS Integrity and Implementer. This section describes the setup tasks required in MKS Integrity. For details on the Implementer setup tasks, see “Enable Promotions From MKS Integrity” on page 242. For an overview of the feature, see “Promoting Implementer Requests From MKS Integrity” on page 201. Review and perform the following MKS Integrity setup requirements: Verify that the states applicable to your use of this feature exist within your MKS Integrity workflow. Add the states needed. Verify an e-mail server is defined in the MKS Integrity im.properties or is.properties file (for problem notification). Verify an e-mail address exists for the MKS Integrity user ID responsible for changing issue states that cause the creation of promotion requests (for problem notification). Modify a JavaScript file with user-defined values. Add a new trigger for the state change. Basic information on completing these tasks is described next. For detailed information, see the MKS Integrity Server 2006 Administration Guide. Modifying the JavaScript File The JavaScript file PromoteIssue.js. is located in the default directory:
Implementer and MKS Integrity Integration If the MKS Integrity Server is running with debug log enabled, the actual commands that are executed from the script display in the log. The debug log is enabled through the logger.properties file located in the directory /config/properties. TIP MKS recommends you have someone with JavaScript skills perform the script modifications. To modify the JavaScript File 1 Open file PromoteIssue.js using any text editor. 2 Set the following variables defined in the script. Use the comments embedded in the file to help determine how to set the values. Specify the following values: iSeriesName is the iSeries system to connect to where Implementer is installed. This can be the TCP/IP host name or the IP address. userProfile is the Implementer user profile on the iSeries that is used to connect to the system, for example MWIPROD. NOTE This user profile is for internal purposes—promotions are not submitted by this user profile. Promotions are submitted using the user profile that changed the issue state. userPassword is the password for the Implementer user profile defined in the userProfile variable. implementerLibraryList is the Implementer library list used to run Implementer commands. You can optionally change the following variables in the script: createRequestCommand is the command that creates and submits the Implementer promotion request. You can change any of the command parameters except FRMLIB, FRMENV, and MBROBJ, which require the value *CLIPBOARD. The OPTIMIZE parameter defaults to *YES. You can change the value to *NO if necessary. For details on this topic, see the MKS Implementer 2006 User Guide. fromEmail is the e-mail address that sends an e-mail to notify when a problem is detected on the iSeries. 3 Save any changes to the file. The JavaScript does not require compiling. Creating an Event Trigger The event trigger you define in MKS Integrity must be rule based. It is used to call the supplied JavaScript code, which in turn establishes a connection to the specified iSeries system and issues several Implementer commands to create and submit the promotion requests on the iSeries. 213
