2 Change the Implementer Communications User (IMCMNUSR) data area to blanks by
issuing the following command:
CHGDTAARA DTAARA(MKSIM/IMCMNUSR) VALUE(' ')
where VALUE is defined by a blank character enclosed in single quotes. This allows using
the communications entry defined next.
3 Create a mode description on the host system that corresponds to the mode description
on the remote. This allows you to specify the amount of activity needed for
Implementer-related activities. Issue the following command:
CRTMODD MODD(IMPMODD) TEXT('Implementer Mode')
4 Associate the mode description with the communications subsystem. The default user
profile on the communications entry is the profile that all Implementer APPC jobs run
under. You can specify any user profile—a common entry is QUSER.
a) To display the device description and determine the current modes used by the
device, issue the following command:
DSPDEVD DEVD(APPC-device)
b) Change the APPC device description by issuing the following command:
CHGDEVAPPC DEVD(APPC-device)
MODE(existing-modes IMPMODD)
For example, the command for APPC device RMTDEV using mode BLANK is:
CHGDEVAPPC DEVD(RMTDEV) MODE(BLANK IMPMODD)
Remote System Setup
Before starting this task, you must have the name of the communications subsystem on the
remote system. This is normally subsystem QCMN and is referred to as qcmn in the following
instructions. In addition, you must have the name of the APPC device that connects the
remote system to the host. This is referred to as APPC-device in the following instructions.
To perform setup on the remote system
1 Add a communications entry by issuing the following command:
ADDCMNE SBSD(qcmn)
DEV(*APPC)
JOBD(IMPRCV/IMPJOBD)
DFTUSR(MWIPROD)
MODE(IMPMODD)
2 Create a mode description on the remote system that corresponds to the mode
