Implementer Receiver

Implementer Receiver is a separately licensed product that runs on a remote iSeries system
and receives software changes from Implementer on the host iSeries system. The Receiver is a
subset of the host Implementer product. A separate license agreement and license keys are
required for each Implementer Receiver to receive changes distributed from the Implementer
host system.
Implementer contains all objects needed to distribute changes to remote systems and LPARs.
The primary activities initiated on the host system are: compile, distribution, and move of a
promotion request, deletion of a promotion request, and the Reset Authorities and Build List
functions. The Implementer Receiver allows you to accomplish both host and remote
initiated activities.
The Implementer Receiver menu provides access to:
Work with Remote Request panel to inquire, print, and move promotion requests, and
view target environments, related requests, and special commands
Restore Remote Request (IRSTRMTRQS) command to restore distributions from tape
(also accessible from a command line)
Move Remote Request (IMOVRMTRQS) command to complete a remote promotion by
moving the items into target environments (also accessible from a command line)
release management functions
administrative functions
Installation of the Implementer Receiver includes steps on both the host and remote systems.
The default Implementer Receiver library name is MKSIR. If you change this name, you must
also change the RCVLIB data area in the corresponding host system. If you install the
Implementer Receiver into a library other than MKSIR, you must manually add that library
name to the top of the library list for the IMPJOBD job description. Implementer uses the
IMPJOBD job description when submitting a remote initiated move request.
To activate the Implementer Receiver for temporary or permanent use, you must use the
MKS Security Reset (RESET) command on the remote system to enter the license keys sent
with your contract or in a separate letter. If you do not have valid license keys, contact MKS
Customer Care.
