Chapter 3: Implementer Administration
Requirements
156
The requirements for using Web-based development are as follows:
Implementer 2006.
The *PRD, *TST, and *QAC environments that manage IFS development must be
defined in Implementer with the IFS directory path, path owner, and IFS object owner.
In addition, the *PRD environment must have a standard application path. For details on
environment setup, see page 81.
Internet Explorer 4.0 or later, or Netscape 4.5 or later.
Using the original Web Server for iSeries requires OS/400 V5R1 or later.
Using the Apache Web Server for iSeries requires:
O/S 400 V5R1 or later.
Knowledge of the Apache Web Server for iSeries configuration and operations.
Access to the httpd.conf configuration file for the Apache Web Server instance to
configure.
iSeries Web Server Setup
The Implementer Web interface supports using either of the IBM HTTP Web servers: the
original Web Server for iSeries or the Apache Web Server for iSeries. You must configure the
Web interface to use one of these servers. If using the Apache Web Server for iSeries, see
page 158 for further instructions.
Original Web Server for iSeries Setup
The OS/400 HTTP configuration file defines what a Web browser is able to access on your
iSeries using the original Web Server for iSeries. The system administrator or a user that is
authorized to and familiar with the following functions must modify the TCP/IP HTTP
configuration file as follows:
Define server-based security protection based on the OS/400 user profile and password.
Enable three method directives.
Define mapping directives for the location of the Implementer interface programs.
Stop and restart the HTTP Server.
IMPORTANT Only one server at a time can be listening on a specified port. You can
simultaneously run more servers on a single system, but each server must listen on a
unique port.
