Add Object Name Rules Field Descriptions<br />

Option 2: All Object Codes for a Specific Environment<br />

Object Name Rules<br />

Value Specify a value to compare to the logical operator defined in the Comparison<br />

field. Valid values are a constant value (no quotes), a special value (see special<br />

values listed next), or a user exit program (see user exit program parameters<br />

listed for Comparison). The special values valid for the comparison values *EQ<br />

and *NE are:<br />

*NUM: Generic numeric value.<br />

*ALPHA: Generic alphanumeric value.<br />

*BLANK: Generic blank value.<br />

Deleting the first rule for a position (And/Or = BLANK) deletes all rules for that<br />

position. Deleting any other rule And/Or < > BLANK) deletes only that rule. If the<br />

Comparison field value is *CALL, the program calls your external user exit<br />

program with the required parameters.<br />

This option allows you to define name rules that enforce validation for all active object codes<br />

for a specific environment.<br />

To work with name rules for all object codes for a specific environment<br />

1 From the <strong>Implementer</strong> Menu, type 42 and press ENTER to access Work with<br />

Environments.<br />

2 Select an environment with option 2=Change, and press ENTER. The Change<br />

Environment panel displays.<br />

3 Press F18=Name Rules. The Work with Object Name Rules panel displays. The Object<br />

Code field displays the default value *ALL, indicating all object codes specific to this<br />

environment.<br />

4 Press F6=Add. The Add Object Name Rule window displays.<br />

5 Complete the fields as described in “Add Object Name Rules Field Descriptions” on<br />

page 140.<br />

6 Press ENTER. The Object Name Rules panel displays.<br />

Option 3: Specific Object Code for All Environments<br />

This option allows you to define name rules that enforce validation of a specific object code<br />

active to all environments.<br />
