Option 2: All Object Codes for a Specific Environment
Object Name Rules
Value Specify a value to compare to the logical operator defined in the Comparison
field. Valid values are a constant value (no quotes), a special value (see special
values listed next), or a user exit program (see user exit program parameters
listed for Comparison). The special values valid for the comparison values *EQ
and *NE are:
*NUM: Generic numeric value.
*ALPHA: Generic alphanumeric value.
*BLANK: Generic blank value.
Deleting the first rule for a position (And/Or = BLANK) deletes all rules for that
position. Deleting any other rule And/Or < > BLANK) deletes only that rule. If the
Comparison field value is *CALL, the program calls your external user exit
program with the required parameters.
This option allows you to define name rules that enforce validation for all active object codes
for a specific environment.
To work with name rules for all object codes for a specific environment
1 From the Implementer Menu, type 42 and press ENTER to access Work with
Environments.
2 Select an environment with option 2=Change, and press ENTER. The Change
Environment panel displays.
3 Press F18=Name Rules. The Work with Object Name Rules panel displays. The Object
Code field displays the default value *ALL, indicating all object codes specific to this
environment.
4 Press F6=Add. The Add Object Name Rule window displays.
5 Complete the fields as described in “Add Object Name Rules Field Descriptions” on
page 140.
6 Press ENTER. The Object Name Rules panel displays.
Option 3: Specific Object Code for All Environments
This option allows you to define name rules that enforce validation of a specific object code
active to all environments.
