Environment Groups
An environment group is a collection of two or more environments, called a target
environment group. You can use a target environment group to promote a request containing
one or more objects to more than one environment. The target environment group function
eliminates the need to select a list of environments every time you create a promotion request
to multiple target environments.
Key Considerations
You can specify an environment group on an application path. For details on path setup,
see “Environment Path” on page 101, and “Project-based Application Paths” on
page 142.
If the environment group’s primary environment is the first production environment on
the path, it is the check out From environment.
If a production environment precedes the environment group on the path, the first
production environment is the check out From environment.
If the environment group targets AS/SET environments, the first environment in the
environment group must be an AS/SET environment. You can include other AS/SET
environments in the environment group.
