C HAPTER ONE Introduction Understanding and Using This Guide 1 MKS Implementer® is the premier software configuration management and deployment solution for the IBM iSeries. Utilizing host-based and graphical user interfaces, Implementer provides the simplicity necessary for first time users, and the breadth and depth for more advanced users. In addition to simplifying development and software change management, including full traceability and auditability of all software changes, Implementer ensures the integrity of software installations in production, development, and testing environments on iSeries servers. Implementer integrates with traditional OS/400 development environments and is leading the way with integrations into new development environments. Implementer integrates with MKS Integrity (formerly MKS Integrity Manager®) and MKS Source (formerly MKS Source Integrity® Enterprise). MKS Integrity is the enterprise choice for flexible process and workflow management, helping create repeatable processes for managing software development. MKS Integrity’s platform transparent, advanced, multi-tier architecture is scalable across the enterprise to support distributed developers and other constituents in the change process. MKS Source is the enterprise choice for comprehensive, cross-platform software configuration management. It is the most technologically advanced SCM solution on the market today, enabling secure and flexible process-centric management for local and distributed software development teams in the enterprise.
