Deleting an Environment
Deleting an environment removes the environment from the Implementer database. It also
removes the environment from the related environment list for other environments. It does
not delete the system libraries or source files associated with the environment.
Key Considerations
You must have authority to maintain environments to delete an environment.
If an environment has closed locks or an attached promotion request, you must use
option 32=Purge history or F19=Purge All History before you can delete the
environment. For details, see “Purging Environment History” on page 374.
You cannot delete an environment that is part of a development path, project path,
related environment, or a From environment for a product version.
You cannot delete an environment that is a From environment or target environment for
a release management package. You must first use Work with Packages to manually
purge the packages. For details, see the MKS Implementer 2006 Release Management Guide.
To delete an environment
1 From the Implementer Menu, type option 42, or type STRIM (*WRKENV) at the
command line and press ENTER to display the Work with Environments panel.
2 From the Work with Environments panel, select each environment with option 4=Delete
and press ENTER. The Confirm Delete of Environments panel displays.
3 Press ENTER to delete the selected environment.
Environment Library List
Implementer uses the environment library list to compile source members during promotion.
It is also used during development from the Workbench and to issue special commands on a
promotion request.
IMPORTANT You cannot use special commands to change the environment library list.
