Vinogradništvo in
vinarstvo nista samo delo,
ampak tudi strast, draž,
spoznavanje, iskanje, pot,
ki se nikoli ne konča.
Martin Krapež
Winegrowing and
winemaking are not only
work but also passion,
fascination, understanding,
contemplation, a journey
that never ends.
Vipavska dolina
Dolina. Odprta vplivom z morja. Sonce povsod.
Lapor pod nogami. Odlično za naše trte.
In z Gore burja. Ki je morda pomagala obrniti tok
zgodovine, ko naj bi leta 394 prav pri Vrhpolju v siloviti
bitki obrnila puščice proti vojski samozvanega poganskega
cesarja Evgenija in pomagala k zmagi Teodozijevi vojski.
Stari, morda prav tukajšnji sorti pinela in zelen. Omenjeni
v vinogradništvo in vinarstvo. Danes obdelujemo
6,5 hektarjev vinogradov.
Trte in klet
Skromni pridelki na trtah, v glavnem krepka, strukturna vina.
Čim bliže naravi, s čim manj poseganja. Vina negujemo
v sodih, oblikujeta jih le les in čas.
Etikete
Po burji, tukajšnjem vetru. Zaradi njegove občasne
silovitosti so korci vipavskih streh obteženi s kamni.
Trgatev, letina je v sodih. Pridelek je na varnem, pod streho!
Svetle etikete za sveža vina, temne za strukturnejša, modra
za rose.
Povabilo
Po stari vipavski navadi gosta kmetije povabimo v naše
svetišče – v vinsko klet. V hram. Na kozarec vina.
The Vipava Valley
The valley. Embracing the influences of the sea. The sun’s all
around. Marl underfoot. A perfect haven for our vines. And the
relentless Burja wind from the Gora plateau. Perhaps, it had
once changed the course of history. Just near Vrhpolje in the
year 394, as legend goes, the gale turned a rain of arrows
against the army of the self-proclaimed pagan emperor
Eugenius, granting Theodosius victory in their furious battle.
The old varieties Pinela and Zelen, mentioned already in
1844 in the book Vinoreja za Slovence (Winegrowing
for Slovenians) by Matija Vrtovec, may have originated in this
very place.
Landmarks
1928. Our grandfather buys the vineyard homestead and wine
cellar in Vrhpolje. 1990. The first vintage of our own bottling.
The family farm is then fully devoted to winegrowing and
winemaking. Today, we tend to 6.5 hectares of vineyards.
Vines and the Cellar
Modest yields, giving mainly sturdy, structured wines. Faithful
to nature, with the least amount of intervention. We age wines
in barrels, shaped only by time and wood.
Labels
Inspired by the Vipava Valley’s Burja wind. Due to its fiery
temper, the tiles of local roofs are weighed down with stones.
The harvest rests in barrels underneath, the produce safe
and sound! Bright labels for fresh wines, dark ones for more
structured wines. A blue label for Rosé.
Invitation
According to the ancient customs of the Vipava Valley,
the guest is invited into our sanctuary – the wine cellar, called
hram in these parts. There, he will be treated to a glass of wine.
