of a reference lot
of 10 hectares cultivated
with Pioneer
hybrid corn and
organically fertilized
by Smithfield Ferme.

n every year Smithfield Ferme
fertilizes several thousands of
hectares with organic fertilizer,
applied with the safest and most
modern technologies of injection
and scarification, according
to plans and analyses which determine
the optimum quantity of
fertilizer required for the crop, for
each and every parcel of land.
n These plans and analyses are
authorized and issued by the
Office for Pedological and Agrochemical
Studies, a technical
specialized body within the Ministry
of Agriculture and Rural
Development.

his is the third consecutive year
when Smithfield Ferme organizes
this experiment, which
proves our constant concern for the
promotion of modern agriculture.
The benefits of organic fertilizers
are once again reconfirmed, through
the significant results obtained from
harvesting the lots organically fertilized
by our specialists – 12 tons per
hectare, values which exceed the results
from the lots cultivated without
fertilization or chemically fertilized”,
declares Ovidiu Timbota, agricultural
director of Smithfield Ferme.
Following the harvesting of the lots
cultivated with Pioneer hybrid corn
and organically fertilized, record
crops in excess of 12 tons/hectare
were obtained.

The event was attended by Regional
Manager Miki Babuscov, on
behalf of Pioneer Company, the land
owner, Mr. Eugen Baziliuc, representatives
of the National Environmental
Guard and the National Environmental
Agency, local authorities
and farmers.
