PRESS RELEASE<br />

December 21, 2011 PR-2011-0203<br />

DAVID SOLIS 19 YEARS OLD ANNALIZA QUIROGA 19 YEARS OLD<br />

On December 19, 2011 at 11:23 PM, a 58 year old female reported that she was<br />

walking to her vehicle in the parking lot <strong>of</strong> 2113 West Lincoln Street <strong>Harlingen</strong> TX,<br />

when a red JEEP- SUV pulled up alongside her. A male subject then exited the JEEP and<br />

approached her and pointed a dark colored handgun to her face. The male suspect then<br />

demanded the female to release her purse and then forcefully pulled on the victim’s arm<br />

several times causing minor pain to the female victim. The male subject then grabbed the<br />

victim’s purse and then ran to the JEEP waiting near by and they fled at a high rate <strong>of</strong><br />

speed towards Dixieland Road. The victim also reported there were about three people<br />

in the vehicle that she managed to observe as the vehicle sped <strong>of</strong>f.<br />

Later on this same night, San Benito Police Department arrested David Solis and<br />

Annaliza Quiroga for a ROBBERY in their city. They were operating a red JEEP<br />

LIBERT (SUV) similar to the one used in the <strong>Harlingen</strong> robbery. The couple later<br />

admitted to San Benito Police that they had committed a robbery in <strong>Harlingen</strong>. Both<br />

suspects were later transported to <strong>Harlingen</strong> TX, where they were interviewed and both<br />

confessed to investigators to having committed the ROBBERY in <strong>Harlingen</strong> TX.<br />

Investigators are working on obtaining information on a third suspect who was possibly<br />

driving the JEEP. Both subjects were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and<br />

Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.<br />

On 12-20-2011 David Solis was arraigned by Judge Guerra and bond was set at<br />

$250,000 for Arravated Robbery and $250,000 for Engaging in Organized Criminal<br />

Activity.<br />

Annaaliza Quiroga was also arraigned on 12-20-2011 by Judge Guerra and her bond<br />

was set at $250,000 for Aggravated Robbery and $250,000 for Engaging in Organized<br />

Criminal Activity.
