<strong>Gujarat</strong> State Road Development Corporation Ltd. Improvement and<br />
Widening of Bagodara-Wataman-Tarapur-Vasad road [ State Highway <strong>–</strong> 8 ]<br />
The earlier presentation on the proposed improvement and strengthening of Bagodara-<br />
Wataman-Tarapur-Vasad road of state highway-8.included salient features like proposed<br />
Right of Way, Construction aspects, Existing land user pattern, need of the project,<br />
environmental aspects related to water and land etc. It was also informed by the project<br />
proponent that the proposed widening shall entail additional land acquisition. After detailed<br />
deliberations by the experts, additional Terms of Reference were prescribed<br />
1. Detailed study flora & fauna of the study area and impact analysis due to proposed<br />
project<br />
2. Detailed study on hydrology, drainage pattern of the study area and impact analysis<br />
due to proposed project and mitigation measures.<br />
3. Land acquisition details and change in land use pattern due to proposed project<br />
especially with respect to agricultural land as well as likely impact.<br />
4. Impact on water bodies surrounding the project site i.e. in study area due to proposed<br />
project..<br />
5. Top soil management plan for the proposed project.<br />
6. Detailed Environmental Management Plan of the stone crushing plants, hot mix<br />
plants, Ready Mix Concrete plants that may come up temporarily for this projects.<br />
7. Detailed Safety provisions proposed during the construction of the project..<br />
8. Bar chart of the project specifying time period.<br />
9. Details on the consumption of water during construction and operation, source of<br />
water supply and permissions from the concerned authority in the case of ground<br />
water extraction.<br />
10. Clearance from the Forest department for the existing tree cutting and details of<br />
compensatory plantation plan.<br />
11. Detailed Environment Management Plan along with all proposed mitigation measures<br />
for both construction phase and operation phase.<br />
12. Base line status of Ambient air quality and modeling indicating the likely impact on<br />
ambient air quality due to proposed activities in operation phase.<br />

Approximately 1700 trees will be cut for<br />
expansion main species are Neem, Siras,<br />
babul, khijadia, pipal, ambli, & bordi are<br />

Environmental baseline monitoring is<br />
carried out satisfactorily by the expert.<br />
The traffic characteristics are more or less<br />
homogenous throughout the entire stretch-<br />
three locations were chosen to represent<br />
the potential worst scenarios as well as<br />
well as normal scenarios, more or less<br />
equidistant from each other- two are busy<br />
junctions, and third is a comparatively less<br />
polluted area<br />
All vehicles for air quality delivering<br />
materials to the site shall be covered to<br />
avoid spillage of materials. Every<br />
precaution to reduce the level of dust<br />
emission for the hot mix plant up to the<br />
satisfaction. All existing highways and<br />
roads works shall be kept clean and clear<br />
of all dust/mud. If required the Engineer,<br />
the road surfaces shall be hosed or<br />
watered using necessary equipment.<br />
Plants, machinery and equipment shall be<br />
so handled (including dismantling) so as<br />
to minimize generation dust. The hot <strong>–</strong><br />
mix plant be sited at least 500 m from the<br />
nearest habitation, shall be fitted with dust<br />
extraction units in order. The discharge<br />
standards promulgated under the<br />
Environment Protection Act, 1986 shall<br />
be strictly adhered to.<br />
The for noise quality plants and<br />
equipment used in construction (including<br />
the aggregate crushing plant) shall strictly<br />
conform to the GOI noise standards.<br />
Maintenance of vehicles shall be regular<br />
and proper. In construction sites within<br />
150 m of the nearest habitation and 500 m<br />
of protected and reserved forests. Workers

Widening of Bagodara-Wataman-Tarapur-Vasad road [ State Highway <strong>–</strong> 8 ]<br />
The earlier presentation on the proposed improvement and strengthening of Bagodara-<br />
Wataman-Tarapur-Vasad road of state highway-8.included salient features like proposed<br />
Right of Way, Construction aspects, Existing land user pattern, need of the project,<br />
environmental aspects related to water and land etc. It was also informed by the project<br />
proponent that the proposed widening shall entail additional land acquisition. After detailed<br />
deliberations by the experts, additional Terms of Reference were prescribed<br />
1. Detailed study flora & fauna of the study area and impact analysis due to proposed<br />
project<br />
2. Detailed study on hydrology, drainage pattern of the study area and impact analysis<br />
due to proposed project and mitigation measures.<br />
3. Land acquisition details and change in land use pattern due to proposed project<br />
especially with respect to agricultural land as well as likely impact.<br />
4. Impact on water bodies surrounding the project site i.e. in study area due to proposed<br />
project..<br />
5. Top soil management plan for the proposed project.<br />
6. Detailed Environmental Management Plan of the stone crushing plants, hot mix<br />
plants, Ready Mix Concrete plants that may come up temporarily for this projects.<br />
7. Detailed Safety provisions proposed during the construction of the project..<br />
8. Bar chart of the project specifying time period.<br />
9. Details on the consumption of water during construction and operation, source of<br />
water supply and permissions from the concerned authority in the case of ground<br />
water extraction.<br />
