ing; is no wonder at all to the learned, tho' the ignorant<br />
perhaps may be fiartled at the affertion. I crave leave<br />
to fortify our author's obfervations by a very common<br />
.one ?fed among oulfelves. It is the cullom, wizen a<br />
fiallion will not readily cover a mare, to beat him with<br />
/lap von the back, and fo quicken the circulation of<br />
the blood, and flimulate the parts of generation to a<br />
compliance with the purpofr of nature. The effet7 is<br />
plain; and the argument will hold in proportion with<br />
the human fpeci es.<br />
.1 am here tempted to fay fomething of a more danger-<br />
ous and modern improvement on the art of lewdnefs, of<br />
which I know one or two remarkable hillories—and,<br />
