Howa M-1500 rifles are built right, starting 

with a forged steel receiver with its flat 

bottom and integral recoil lug. Barrels are 

hammer-forged for precision rifling. The 

bolt is a one-piece forging with two large 

locking lugs for maximum strength and a 

powerful M-16-style extractor. The bolt face 

completely surrounds the cartridge head for 

safety. 

The fully adjustable Howa trigger is famous 

for consistent, crisp let-off. A lightweight 

hinged floor-plate opens at the touch of a 

button. All models are drilled and tapped for 

standard scope bases and come with solid 

rubber butt pads and sling swivel studs.

For precision hunting and predator control. 

Howa Varmint and Varminter Supreme rifles take 

performance to new heights. Built around the proven M- 

1500 action, these rifles have 24-inch hammer-forged bull 

barrels with recessed muzzle crown in either non-glare 

blue or matte stainless steel. The M-1500’s acclaimed 

trigger adjusts for sear engagement and weight of pull. 

New for 2005, a three-position safety allows safe singleloading 

and secure bolt lock-down. Recoil pads and swivel 

studs are standard. 

The Varmint Hunter stock is American Black Walnut, with checkered panels on 

pistol grip and forend. The Varmint Lightning sports a new improved black 

polymer stock with molded cheek piece, more comfortable forearm, palm swell, 

free floated barrel channel, and modern checkering. A new camo Realtree 

dipped stock is available for Varmint models. 

The Varminter Supreme stock is designed with a raised comb and rollover 

cheekpiece, a full pistol-grip with palm-filling swell, a broad beavertail forend 

and 12 longitudinal slots milled into each stock for barrel cooling. 

The Thumbhole Varminter adds a high, straight comb and a more vertical pistol 

grip that’s ideal for shooting off a bench or rest.

20, 28 and .410 bore. Features include a single selective, goldplated 

trigger, ventilated matted rib, automatic ejectors, 

automatic safety, multi-choke tubes and a black rubber recoil 

pad. Monobloc barrels are chrome-moly steel, polished and 

blued, while the engraved steel receiver is finished in brushed 

nickel. Wood on the 70EJ Deluxe is select low-gloss-finish

Escort AimGuard and MarineGuard shotguns are designed 

specifically for home and business defense. Both models have an 18inch 

cylinder-bore barrel, five-shot magazine tube, tough polymer 

stock, and sling swivel studs. A 3/8-inch dovetail rib is milled into the 

top of the receiver for mounting accessory sights – a feature you’ll find 

only on Escort.

Trading Mauser 98 actions. All dimensions and receiver threads 

duplicate original large-ring Mauser specifications. The GT Mauser 

bolt and receiver are investment cast in Europe using select grades of 

alloy steel, then finished on precision CNC machinery. 

Standard features include: 

• Three-position safety mounted on cocking piece locks sear 

and bolt handle. Single rounds can be loaded and unloaded 

with safety engaged. 

• Integral dovetails on receiver rings for Legacy Sports’ exclusive 

matching rings; also drilled and tapped for standard bases. 

• Fully adjustable single-stage trigger. 

• Non-rotating, spring steel extractor engages the cartridge

BIG-FIVE ULTRAMAG 

• The Big-Five M98 Ultramag Mauser action is built oversize for 

cartridges up to .505 Gibbs. The bolt and all small parts are 

machined steel forgings. 

• The Ultramag’s massive receiver and bottom metal are extra 

thick for solid bedding. The receiver has a double-square 

bridge for rigid scope mounting. The front ring is extra long to 

accommodate extended barrel threads. 

• The magazine box is dropped for maximum 

cartridge capacity, and can be adapted to any 

desired chambering. 

• The lower tang is extended and shaped for a full pistol grip 

stock. All external surfaces are polished and left in-the-white.
