Oko Nove godine je vrijeme koledve kada kolejani<br />

ophode ku}e, skupljaju darove i pjevaju stare obredne<br />

pjesme da bi uku}anima po`eljeli dobru sre}u. Ovaj<br />

prastari narodni obi~aj ~estitanja, sabiranja darova i<br />

zajedni~kog go{}enja najbolje se je sa~uvao u Omi{lju i<br />

na Duba{nici.<br />

Ve}ina ovih starih obi~ajnih sve~anosti proiza{lo je<br />

iz nekada{nje `ive vjerske i gospodarske podloge kraja i<br />

predstavljale su tek predah na istom putu rada i<br />

opstanka. Gotovo neizostavni dio svakog pira i obi-<br />

~ajnog dru`enja na otoku je tanec, rasko{ni narodni<br />

ples. Obi~no ga se izvodi na javnom mjestu, po unaprijed<br />

utvr|enom redu u narodnim no{njama uz svirku<br />

sopela, pu~kog muzi~kog glazbala tipa oboe. Sopele<br />

sviraju uvijek u paru, velika i mala, ili debela i tanka,<br />

i sla`u specifi~an tonski niz kr~kog predajnog muziciranja,<br />

takozvanu netemperiranu muzi~ku ljestvicu.<br />

Tanec se ple{e gotovo na svim sve~anostima, po svim<br />

mjestima u razli~itim propisanim oblicima i trajanjima<br />

kao najsve~anija javna potvrda svega onoga {to<br />

vlastita sredina ima i pru`a. Spomenimo da Dobrinj<br />

ima okolo i suportu, a Vrbnik kolo, nogi, ruki i osobito<br />

lijep i zanimljiv potancu. Potancu je tanec poslije<br />

tanca kojeg ple{u ~etiri grupe sastavljene od po tri `ene<br />

i jednog mu{karca. Neki misle da je potancu slika i prilika<br />

godi{njih mjenja i sun~evog sistema, jer se izvodi<br />

elegantnim kretanjem i okretanjem plesa~a i plesa~ica<br />

kao da se po prostoru kre}u nebeska tijela. Kolo je uvod<br />

u tanec u kojem sudjeluju `ene i djevojke i samo dva<br />

mu{karaca, jedan na po~etku kola koji ga vodi i drugi<br />

Most of these old traditional festivities have originated<br />

from the live religious and economic base of this<br />

region of the time, and they represented only a respite<br />

on the same path of work and survival. An almost certain<br />

part of each wedding or meeting of friends on the<br />

island is the tanec, a beautiful folk dance. It is usually<br />

performed in public, according to a previously determined<br />

schedule, in folk costumes and with the music of<br />

sopelas, a type of folk musical instrument similar to<br />

oboe. Sopelas are always played in pairs, a large and a<br />

small one or a thick and a thin one, and together they<br />

put together a specific tonal series of traditional Krk<br />

music playing, the so-called intemperate musical scale.<br />

Tanec is danced at almost all festivities, in every<br />

town, according to various prescribed forms and duration<br />

as the most solemn public confirmation of everything<br />

one’s own milieu possesses and offers. Let us<br />

mention that Dobrinj has okolo and suporta, while<br />

Vrbnik has kolo, nogi, ruki, and a particularly beautiful<br />

and interesting dance, potancu. Potancu is a<br />

tanec after the tanec danced by four groups consisting<br />

of three women and one man each. Some believe that<br />

potancu is the embodiment of the seasons and the<br />

solar system since it is performed with elegant movement<br />

and turns of the dancers as if celestial bodies<br />

were moving in the space. Kolo is an introduction to a<br />

tanec in which along with women and girls participate<br />

only two men, one at the beginning of the kolo,<br />

and he is leading it, and the other at the end named<br />

bed. It is said that in the ancient times, which are no<br />

longer remembered by anyone, bed hopped while dancing<br />

and did everything to catch the eye of an evil force<br />

so that it would not hurt the girls and the women.<br />
