evidence tallied with Deb's. She believed<br />

the body in the adjoining room to be that<br />

cognize the face, but the dress and orna-<br />

ments were certainly <strong>her</strong>s—the hat and<br />

jacket, too, were those in which Mrs.<br />

Thornton had gone out the last day she<br />

person supposed to be Mrs. Thornton?<br />

Were the boots that it had on such as a<br />

lady in <strong>her</strong> position would be likely to<br />

wear ?
