promoted formation of the salty lake Baskunchak
largest in Europe. In territory of geopark it is a lot of
places where ancient adjournment leave on a day
surface, forming unique geological landscapes.

Bogdinsko-Baskunchakskiy Geopark – A Quality
Rural, Cultural,
Sustainable Tourist District
To resort to an associative District locally, represents
an attempt to put into a network all those factors
around a good idea as a precise, locally integrated,
sustainable development strategy and, at the same
time, the District is the strategic instrument to relaunch
those identity values that can be found within a
territory, as an evolved product of the interaction
between natural and cultural factors.
Thus it finds synthesis and development in the geotourism
and Geopark idea, for the revaluation and thus
the safeguard of the local rural heritage.
The District strategy can have a triple valence:
1.as an instrument to program the sustainable
development of the Bogdinsko-Baskunchakskiy area,
2.as an operational support to reposition that part of
the territory to a ready tourism,
3.as a hauling element for the area with a
highpotential, but that is not able to take off.
With the creation of the District, it is intended to
revalue and promote in a new way the territory of the
Bogdinsko-Baskunchakskiy Geopark and its
resources, proposing a geo-tourism development with
a series of “routes” that, at the same time, put in
evidence the natural geologic wine, gastronomy,
tourist and cultural values while creating a coordinated
and quality tourist-reception offer, even in
relation to complementary services.
