character, both on petiole and leaf, is fluctuant during the season ... So, the most important is
that the shape and the number of glands, as well as the area (petiole/leaf), must be determined
on adult, full-sized leaves of mature trees (on the young leaves in growth, they are more or
less well constituted and on too old leaves, they dry out and fall), if possible in July for the
UE countries, during a short period of one or two weeks for a set of varieties in
experimentation / characterization.
