Peter Cariello is in his second<br />

season as a graduateassistant<br />

strength and<br />

conditioning coach at Hofstra<br />

University. Cariello works with<br />

Hofstra’s wrestling, volleyball,<br />

baseball, softball, golf and<br />

cross country teams.<br />

A 2002 graduate of the<br />

University of Massachusetts<br />

with a degree in legal studies, Cariello was a four-year letterman and a<br />

three-year starter on the Massachusetts football team and was part of<br />

the 1998 I-AA National Championship squad. Cariello was a first team<br />

Strength and Conditioning All-American in 2002, and writes a fitness<br />

column in The Patent Trader – a Westchester newspaper.<br />

Cariello, who is A.C.E. and AAA/ISMA certified, has served as a personal<br />

trainer at Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor, New York, and was the defensive<br />

coordinator at Yonkers High School in 2002.<br />

Brad Christie is in his first<br />

season as a strength and<br />

conditioning assistant with the<br />

Hofstra wrestling team.<br />

Christie rejoins the Pride<br />

program after two stellar<br />

seasons as a member of the<br />

Hofstra wrestling team.<br />

Christie ended his college<br />

career in 20<strong>04</strong> by finishing<br />

second in the CAA Championships at 184 pounds and earning a second<br />

straight bid to the NCAA Championships in St. Louis. Christie posted a<br />

22-13 record as a senior including a 7-0 record in CAA matches and a<br />

12-7 mark in duals. As a Hofstra junior in 2003, Christie carded a 25-13<br />

record including a 6-1 mark in CAA action and a 15-5 record in duals,<br />

and captured the CAA Championship at 184 pounds and a trip to the<br />

NCAA Championships.<br />

Christie came to Hofstra in 2002 after two seasons at Montclair State<br />

University where he was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American and<br />

placed second at the NCAA Championships as a freshman in 2001 and<br />

seventh as a sophomore in 2002.<br />

The Fort Lee, New Jersey native was a four-time district champion, a<br />

three-time regional champion and a two-time county champion at Fort<br />

Lee High School. Christie, who is single, is a 20<strong>04</strong> graduate of Hofstra<br />

with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.<br />

Terry McLaughlin is in his<br />

fourth year on the athletic<br />

training at Hofstra University<br />

and his second as the certified<br />

athletic trainer for the Hofstra<br />

wrestling program.<br />

McLaughlin, who has eight<br />

years of athletic training<br />

experience, has also served as<br />

the athletic trainer for the<br />

Pride men’s basketball team in<br />

the past.<br />

McLaughlin returned to Hofstra in August 2001 after spending a year as<br />

a clinical education coordinator at Biodex Medical Systems in Shirley,<br />

New York. While there, McLaughlin organized and taught workshops for<br />

physical therapists and athletic trainers in addition to updating<br />

rehabilitation protocols for use by Biodex customers.<br />

McLaughlin, who earned a master’s in health education from Hofstra in<br />

2000, served as a graduate-assistant athletic trainer at Hofstra from<br />

1998 through 2000, working with the Hofstra football and wrestling<br />

teams. Prior to that he served as a graduate intern at the University of<br />

Maryland-Baltimore County, serving as the primary athletic trainer for<br />

men’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, baseball and<br />

softball.<br />

A 1995 graduate of Temple University with a degree in athletic training,<br />

Terry and his wife, Yvie, reside in Hauppauge, New York.<br />
