PARIS Africolor
Music Festival
This vibrant series of concerts,
some of them free, takes place
throughout the city, showcasing the
varied musical talents and styles
emanating from the African continent,
while focusing on the theme of
“nomadism”. Headlining artists
include Congo’s Lokua Kanza (pictured,
right), Sénégal’s Omar Pène as well as
Takfarinas from Algeria.

LONDON Turner Prize
This year’s winner of arguably the
world’s most recognised and prestigious
contemporary art award will be revealed
on December 6, making this a perfect
opportunity to check out the work of the
nominees: Dexter Dalwood, Angela de
la Cruz, Susan Philipsz and The Otolith

Philharmonic
This is the world-class orchestra’s
gorgeous rendition of Felix
Mendelssohn’s Elijah. One of the
19th-century composer’s two oratorios,
this one heavily infl uenced by Bach,
it is a dramatic interpretation of
the more colourful exploits of the
eponymous Biblical prophet. This
performance will be led by British
conductor Richard Egarr and sung by
members of the Lemmens Institute
Choir and soloists from the Queen
Elisabeth Music Chapel. Dec 12, 8pm,

Cet orchestre de classe mondiale
interprétera somptueusement l’Elias, de
Mendelssohn, l’un des deux oratorios
du compositeur du XIX e siècle
largement inspiré de Bach, où il livre
une ébauche dramatique de la vie du
prophète Elie et de sa mission de
ramener les Juifs dans le droit chemin.
Sous la direction du chef d’orchestre
britannique Richard Egarr, l’œuvre sera
interprétée par le chœur du
Lemmensinstituut et les solistes de la
Chapelle musicale reine Élisabeth.

PARIS L’Or des Incas
This dramatically staged
exhibition showcasing 253 stunning
works from Peru’s most prestigious
museums, explores the ancient Incas’
relationship with gold, which they
considered to be the “sweat” of the
sun and played a crucial role in their
religious rituals.

extraordinaires des plus prestigieux
musées péruviens, cette exposition à la
mise en scène spectaculaire explore la
relation des Incas avec l’or, « sueur » du
soleil et élément central de leurs rituels
