Alumni giving
Here are some of the ways in which you as an alumnus can contribute,
both financially and through sharing your valuable knowledge.
Unisa Affinity Card
The Unisa Affinity Card is a product of an agreement
between Unisa and Absa whereby Absa contributes a
percentage of the card transaction costs to the Unisa
Alumni Association. For more information, go to

The student tutorial programme
This programme aims to increase the success and pass rate of students at Unisa. We invite you, as an alumnus, to
contribute your time, resources, skills and expertise towards mentoring and supporting students in tutorial matters.
Unisa Foundation
This is a statutory, autonomous body governed by an independent Board of Trustees. Its focus is to develop
broad-based fundraising partnerships and strategies in line with the university’s vision and mission.
Bursaries and fundraising initiatives
From a business point of view, Unisa provides cost effective education to learners who, mostly, do not have the
circumstances or the means to study full time at a contact university.
Your contribution to our bursary scheme will assist students who excel academically but cannot continue with
their studies due to financial constraints.
Strategic objectives
• Build relationships
• Develop fundraising strategies for the university’s infrastructure projects
• Initiate and promote public and private partnerships
• Contribute towards the university’s development initiatives
• Encourage the development of academic and community outreach projects
The Unisa Foundation’s current projects range from academic chairs and infrastructure projects to academic/
community engagement projects.
