Code of Conduct and Dress Code Agreement

By purchasing tickets to the Valley Christian Homeschool Prom 2013, “A Night in Nairobi,” or as attending as a Guest,
I affirm that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by the following:
Students must comply with instructions from chaperones.
Students should exercise careful use of the facility.
Early dismissal allowed only with a parent’s written permission or presence; no in-and-out privileges.
Public displays of affection are discouraged, including kissing, caressing or extended embracing, and sitting on one another’s
laps.
Modesty in dancing will be expected; no body against body or “Dirty Dancing” will be tolerated.
Weapons, alcohol, tobacco products, or illegal substances are not allowed.
No one exhibiting the effects of alcohol or drug use will be allowed to enter.
Foul language is unacceptable.
I accept that students who behave inappropriately or who fail to adhere to the dress code will be asked to leave; those who are refused
entry or are dismissed due to inappropriate behavior or failure to adhere to the dress code are not entitled to any refund or reimbursement.
I promise to make modest choices regarding my attire at the Valley Homeschool Prom:
Acceptable Men’s Dress-
o Tuxedos, dress suits, jacket & slacks (jackets are required).
o Neckties, bow ties, or bolo ties should be worn.
o Dress shoes, appropriate for dancing, are required.
Unacceptable Men’s Dress-
o T-shirts.
o Jeans of any style or color.
o Visible tattoos or body piercings (clear spacers can be worn).
o Boots, including cowboy boots, or tennis shoes (including “formal” sports shoes offered by some tuxedo rentals).
Acceptable Ladies Dress-
o Long gowns are encouraged, but not required.
o Minimum length for dresses is 3 inches above the top of the knee. See through fabric should not be considered in
determining the length of the gown.
o Spaghetti straps and strapless gowns are permitted.
o Always wear appropriate undergarments.
o Dresses must be above the smallest portion of the natural waistline in the back.
o Appropriate shoes are required.
Unacceptable Ladies Dress-
o Plunging necklines (rule of thumb: if you can bend over without needing to cover yourself with your hand, your neckline is
appropriate).
o Cutouts below the natural bra line.
o Slits more than 3 inches above the top of the knee.
o See through gowns.
o “Formal” trousers.
o Visible tattoos or body piercings (clear spacers can be worn).
o Boots of any sort, Tennis shoes, “formal” sports shoes, or Toms.
Accident Waiver and Release of Liability
I acknowledge that the Valley Christian Homeschool Prom is planned by a volunteer committee and is an event that involves risks.
I hereby assume all risks associated with my participation in this event, holding harmless and waiving all liability of the Valley Christian
Homeschool Prom committee, the volunteer personnel, and any groups associated with the Valley Christian Homeschool Prom. I
acknowledge this form will be used by sponsors and organizers of the event, and it will govern my actions and responsibilities at the event.
I further grant permission to the Valley Christian Homeschool Prom the right to use and publish for educational or other purposes,
photographic likenesses and pictures taken at the Prom.
This Accident Waiver and Release of Liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent
permissible under applicable law.
As a student or guest, by initialing the Valley Homeschool Prom Registration form, I certify that I have read this document, that I
understand its content, and consent to its use.
The parent/guardian, by initialing the Valley Homeschool Prom Registration form, does hereby represent that he/she is acting in
such a capacity and agrees to save and hold harmless each and all of the parties on behalf of the minor and parents or legal guardians. I

All day Parents are working hard to make the night spectacular!
(Anyone bringing food will be given a delivery time early in the day.)
7:00 pm Student Check-in begins (pre-registered attendees only).
7:00 pm Parents are welcome to take a quick look at the room and snap pictures before leaving.
7:30 pm Food, music and dancing. (Teens and designated chaperones only)
11:00 pm Prom ends. Please pick up students.
11:01 pm Clean up begins.
Venue:
Villa De Cortez is located in Weslaco, Texas at 260 S. Texas Blvd.

Parking:
Parking is on the ground floor of the parking garage only. There is no charge for parking.
Chaperones:
Parents are invited to enter the venue from 7:00 – 7:30 pm only. After that time, only designated
chaperones will be allowed in the room.
Dress Code and Code of Conduct:
We take these very seriously and will not permit entry into the event if Dress Code is not followed.
Please be sure that your guests are aware of all rules. Conduct violation will result in the attendee
being asked to leave immediately.

Guest Registration:
Each homeschool student may request one guest ticket. Guest must be in 9th grade as of Sept 2012 and between the ages of
14 and 19 years old. Guest must agree to the Dress Code, Code of Conduct, and Accident Waiver and Release of Liability.
All guests MUST be preregistered. No last minute guests are allowed the night of the prom.
