Shortened Bachelor of Business Administration in Hotel Management degree programme
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Hotel Management Degree is a flexible programme
for foreign students in particular. The length of the programme varies from one to four years,
depending on the level and qualifications of the individual student. The programme is based
upon “accreditation of prior learning and prior experience”.
English as language of instruction
The ability to communicate in and understand English is necessary in the hospitality field. All
students may be asked to submit the results of an IELTS-test. The minimum score must be 550
points on a paper-based test and 213 on a computer based test (refer to 2A.4)
2A.8 Exchange students
The number of foreign exchange students studying at Stenden university for a limited period is
significant. Many activities are organised to guarantee a pleasant study time for these students.
In principle, exchange students may follow all English modules of the IHM programme. Dutch
students and the Exchange Programme Coordinator are available to assist the foreign students.
The International Office is the administrative office and is responsible for editing and publishing
the International Programme and arranging housing. A completed Application Form, available

2A.9 Choice of second modern foreign language
In the second year of the programme students have to do a module in a second modern foreign
language (MFL). If the student has a secondary school diploma with at least ..... education in
French, German, Spanish or Dutch, they have to choose this language at advanced level for the
second year International Business Communication module. They also have to do the MFL part
of the first year Rooms Division module in this language.
If you did ProHHO before starting the education of Hotel Management, the same rule counts.
Students coming from outside the European Economic Area that did not do at least 4 years of
education in one of the second modern foreign languages will have to choose Spanish beginners
or Dutch beginners.
It is of course not possible to choose for your mother language.
