CRPF personnel. Deputy
Commissioner of Senapati district,
T Pamei was directed to inquire. 77

The Deputy Commissioner of
Thoubal Mr P Vaiphei was directed
to conduct inquiries. 78
(6) Death of Manorama Devi at the
hands of Assam Rifles personnel on
11 July 2004. Justice C Upendra
was conducting the inquiry.
(7) Retired special judge Justice KR S
Gourachand Singh is inquiring the
killing of Limkhongam Baite,
Thangpou Baite and Hemmingthang
Baite by Manipur police
commandos. 79
(8) Retired sessions judge C Upendra
Singh was appointed to inquire
killing of 75-year-old L D
Rengtuiwan on 16 November 2004
at Bungte Chiru village. 80
The departmental, magisterial and
judicial inquiries into the following cases
of 2002 and 2003 are still awaited:
- Firing incident at Pangei Bazaar,
Imphal on 9 April 2002 in which six

persons including four CRPFs were
killed and 34 injured;
- Counter insurgency operation on 22
April 2002 in which three persons
of a family were killed and another
member of the same family, a one
and half year old kid, injured in a
crossfire between the Border
Security Force personnel and the
armed opposition groups near Zou
Veng, a Kuki village around half a
kilometer south of Sugunu police
station. The inquiry has reportedly
been completed but not made public
as yet;
- The magisterial inquiry into the
killing of Zane Alam, son of Md
Amalullah Khan of Minuthong
Hafiz Hatta on 2 October 2002;
- Killing of RK Thoibinao Devi,
daughter of RK Ajitkumar Singh of
Ningthoukhong, by BSF on 1
January 2003;
- Killing of four children and injury
of another at Manipur Police
Training School at Pangei used by
the BSF and CRPF on 24 March
2003;
- The killing of Md Qayamuddin son
of Md Zamiruddin of Kiyamgei
Muslim Awang Leikai of general
post office on 4 September 2003;
- Inquiry into the firing incident of
September 2003 at Sugnu in which
four civilians - Thakhokam
Khongsai, Saikhogin Hensing,
Letkhomang Hensing and
Haokhopao Hensing were allegedly
