2005) : Data Deficient. Population, biology <strong>and</strong> ecology not known.<br />

Remarks : Tikader <strong>and</strong> Das (1985) listed the subspecies C. b. scherzeri as endemic to <strong>Nicobar</strong><br />

Isl<strong>and</strong>s. Alfred et al. (2002) did not include the scherzeri as a valid subspecies. The status <strong>of</strong><br />

this subspecies is uncertain.<br />

Habitat : Evergreen rain forests.<br />

Distribution : India : <strong>Nicobar</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s : Car <strong>Nicobar</strong>, Camorta, Nancowry Isl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

Status : IUCN (CAMP Report, 2005) : Vulnerable; IUCN (Wilson <strong>and</strong> Reeder, 2005) : Lower<br />

Risk). Population, biology <strong>and</strong> ecology not known.<br />

Common Name : <strong>Nicobar</strong> Flying Fox, Black Eared Flying Fox.<br />

Habitat : Found in all types forest habitats.<br />

Distribution : India : <strong>Nicobar</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

Status : IUCN (CAMP Report, 2005) : Data Deficient. Population depleting due to habitat<br />

destruction.<br />

Remarks : Tikader <strong>and</strong> Das, 1985 mentoned the subspecies P.m.satyrus as endemic to<br />

<strong>Andaman</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s but Alfred et al., 2002 considered satyrus as a synonym.<br />
