Habitat : Tropical <strong>and</strong> subtropical rain forests.<br />

Distribution : India : <strong>Nicobar</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s (South).<br />

Status : Information deficient.<br />

Presently, 96 species belonging to 67 genera under 11 families are so far reported from<br />

these isl<strong>and</strong>s. Of these, 71 species are recorded from <strong>Andaman</strong>s <strong>and</strong> 48 species are known<br />

from <strong>Nicobar</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s, <strong>of</strong> which 16 species are endemic to the isl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
