Appendix B – Learn <strong>Ancient</strong> <strong>Hebrew</strong><br />

The original <strong>Hebrew</strong> name of the letter will then be<br />

revealed. In most cases, the English word is very close to<br />

the <strong>Hebrew</strong>. The name of each letter is also the <strong>Hebrew</strong><br />

word for what the picture is. For example, the letter ""<br />

is a picture of a door, the <strong>Hebrew</strong> name for this letter is<br />

"dal", which in <strong>Hebrew</strong> means, "door".<br />

<strong>Hebrew</strong> sound<br />

The sound of the letter will be defined <strong>and</strong> is always the<br />

sound of the first letter of the <strong>Hebrew</strong> name.<br />

<strong>Hebrew</strong> meaning<br />

The meaning of the letters will be explained. These<br />

meanings will be related to the picture <strong>and</strong> name.<br />

Once the letters are understood in their original <strong>Hebrew</strong><br />

context, we will look at a few <strong>Hebrew</strong> words, which are<br />

formed by combining letters together. The meanings of<br />

these letters will then supply the definition to the <strong>Hebrew</strong><br />

word. The pronunciation of the word will also be seen<br />
