Six - Word Studies<br />

The purpose of this book is to provide the reader with the<br />

tools <strong>and</strong> resources to read the Bible with a Hebraic<br />

underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>and</strong> see the text through the eyes of the<br />

<strong>Ancient</strong> <strong>Hebrew</strong> who wrote it.<br />

Let us now put all this "technical" information to work by<br />

looking at a passage through Hebraic eyes.<br />

God<br />

"God Most High, Creator of heaven <strong>and</strong><br />

earth." (Genesis 14.22)<br />

We will examine two words within this sentence, God <strong>and</strong><br />

Creator. Both of these words are abstract words from<br />

Greek thought. Our goal is to find the tangible concrete<br />

Hebraic context of these words that will reveal the heart<br />

of God the Creator<br />

The <strong>Hebrew</strong> word translated as "God" is la / al <strong>and</strong> is a<br />

Parent Root word. The <strong>Ancient</strong> pictographs for this root<br />

are . The first picture (remember <strong>Hebrew</strong> is read<br />

from right to left) is an ox head representative of power<br />

because of his great strength. The second is a shepherd's<br />
