The God of the <strong>Hebrew</strong>s was seen as the older ox who is<br />

yoked to his people in a covenant relationship.<br />

013 AM strong liquid -- Glue: Glue was<br />

made by placing the hides of animals in a pot of boiling<br />

water. As the hide boiled, a thick sticky substance formed<br />

at the surface of the water. This substance was removed<br />

<strong>and</strong> used as a binding agent. The arm is seen as a glue as<br />

it encircles <strong>and</strong> holds together (a cubit was the length of<br />

the arm from elbow to fingertip). The mother of the<br />

family is the one who binds the family together by<br />

holding in her arms <strong>and</strong> by the work of her arms. The<br />

tribe is the larger family bound together by blood relation.<br />

014 AN ox seed -- Produce: The male<br />

searches out the female <strong>and</strong> approaches her for<br />

reproducing (see Jeremiah 2:24). A search for someone in<br />

order to produce something. A ship searches through the<br />

sea for a distant coastline (of an isl<strong>and</strong> or mainl<strong>and</strong>) in<br />

search of the produce for trade. The fig tree produces fruit<br />

that is desirable <strong>and</strong> prolific, since the fig is green <strong>and</strong><br />

blends in with the leaves, the fruit must be searched out.<br />

The searching may result in success or failure.<br />
