Appendix E – Parent Root Dictionary<br />

to Strong's. Appendix E will list the Strong’s number 49<br />

followed by the <strong>Ancient</strong> <strong>Hebrew</strong> parent root number. The<br />

definition of the parent root will then provide the concrete<br />

underst<strong>and</strong>ing to this word.<br />

Appendix E will also list the <strong>Ancient</strong> <strong>Hebrew</strong> parent root<br />

number followed by the Strong's numbers of all the words<br />

derived from the parent. This will allow the student to see<br />

all the words that are related to each other from the<br />

parent.<br />

How to use the Lexicon<br />

Below is a Sample entry from the lexicon describing the<br />

format of the parent root entry.<br />

Hearth 5 : The hearth around the fire<br />

protected the house from the heat <strong>and</strong><br />

embers of the fire. The brothers of the house<br />

are the protectors by surrounding the house<br />

to protect it. 6<br />

1. The parent root number. This number is derived<br />

alphabetically. For example, the word is 001,<br />

is 002, is 003, etc. Some numbers will be<br />

missing, such as "001" as there is no <strong>Hebrew</strong> word in<br />

the Bible derived from this parent root.<br />
