Recent police activity in Wilbraham
WILBRAHAM – The Wilbraham
Police Department released information
on recent police activity reported by Capt.
Timothy Kane.
Breaking and Entering Solved
An employee from Was Brothers on
Boston Road reported Dec. 26 that his
business was broken into and money was
stolen. Officer Shawn Baldwin processed

The Bards
fingerprints left at the scene. On Jan. 4 the
results of the prints were returned, which
identified Nathan Binette, 23, of Ludlow
as the owner of the prints. An interview
followed.
On Jan. 10 at 11:46 a.m. Binette was
placed under arrest by Baldwin for two
counts of Breaking and Entering in the
Nighttime, two counts of Larceny over
$250 and Destruction of Property.
The Wilbraham Police Department
reminds residents to keep all vehicles and
houses locked. Leave outside lights on
whenever possible. Do not give out personal
information over the phone.
Under-Age Drinking
Jan. 5 at 11:40 p.m. the Wilbraham
Police were dispatched to Lake Drive for
a suspicious activity call. Officer Brent
Noyes was let into a residence where it
was believed under-age drinking was going
on. Zachary Coopee, 20, of Hampden
was observed grabbing a 30-pack of
beer and then attempting to leave. Officer
Noyes asked for his identification. He presented
a fake identification and was subsequently
arrested for minor in possession
of alcohol and using a false identification.
Sgt. Edward Lennon assisted.
Wanted on Warrants
Jan. 6 at 7:52 p.m. Officer Thomas
Motyka queried a license plate randomly.
The result showed the vehicle’s registration
to be revoked. While gathering the
operator’s information, it was found that
he had two warrants for his arrest. Anthony
Maggi, 26, of Ludlow was placed
under arrest by Motyka. His vehicle was
towed.

Shoplifting at Home Depot
Jan. 7 at 10:31 a.m. Officer Harold
Swift responded to Home Depot for a
shoplifting complaint. Cheyen Capellan,
19, of Springfield was placed under arrest
for attempting to steal a $200 drill after
store security observed him fail to pay for
the merchandise.
Disturbing the Peace
Jan. 7 at 10:11 p.m. Officers Justin
Wall and Thomas Motyka responded to
Weston Street for a domestic situation.
Upon arrival, Christopher Moore, 33, of
Wilbraham, exited his residence severely
intoxicated and began yelling obscenities
to the point neighbors were coming outside
and looking out their windows.
Several attempts were made to calm
Moore down with negative results. He
was placed under arrest by Officer Justin
Wall for Disturbing the Peace and Disorderly
Conduct Subsequent Offense.
Fugitive Apprehended
Jan. 9 at 7:40 a.m. Officer Shawn
Baldwin assisted Massachusetts State
Trooper Kevin O’Toole of the Violent Fugitive
Apprehension Unit, along with the
U.S. Marshall Service in the apprehension
of Richard Hatcher, 32, of Wilbraham for
the service of an arrest warrant.
