“There is a Buddhist term that<br />
means ‘unshakeable soul’. This<br />
was my inspiration for the name<br />
of my bar,” says Jumpei. There is<br />
no drinks list; instead, the popular<br />
cocktails are served according to<br />
customers’ individual wishes.<br />
Mirei Yoshida, designer and<br />
owner, comodo<br />
Most of the items sold at comodo<br />
are designed by Mirei. “When I<br />
design something,” she says, “I<br />
think: What gives me joy when I<br />
see it? I want to create a shop that<br />
makes customers feel good and<br />
gives them positive energy.”<br />

Momma Annex<br />
“My mother was active as an artist<br />
until she was 87,” says Keiko. “Then<br />
she decided to open our home and<br />
turn it into a gallery to help young<br />
artists.” The gallery is surrounded<br />
by trees and sells a large variety of<br />
modern art, including sculptures.<br />

This family-owned sushi restaurant<br />
has been around since the 38th<br />
year of Showa (1963). “Our motto is<br />
using our long years of experience<br />
to create a place guests can truly<br />
enjoy,” says Akinobu.<br />
