Manufacturer's declaration of the company Graupner GmbH & Co KG
Content of the manufacturer's declaration
If material defects or manufacturing faults should arise in a product distributed by us in the Federal Republic
of Germany and purchased by a consumer (§ 13 BGB), we, Graupner GmbH & Co. KG, Kirchheim/Teck,
Germany, acknowledge the obligation to correct those defects within the limitations described below.
The consumer is not entitled to make claims under this manufacturer’s declaration if the failure in the usability
of the product is due to natural wear, use under competition conditions, incompetent or improper use (including
incorrect installation), or external influences.
This manufacturer’s declaration does not affect the consumer’s legal or contractual rights regarding defects
arising from the purchase contract between the consumer and the vendor (dealer).
Extent of the guarantee
If a claim is made under guarantee, we undertake at our discretion to repair or replace the defective goods.
We will not consider further claims, especially for reimbursement of costs relating to the defect (such as installation
/ removal costs) and compensation for consequent damages unless they are allowed by statute.
This does not affect claims based on legal regulations, especially according to product liability law.
Guarantee requirements
The purchaser is required to make the guarantee claim in writing and must enclose original proof of purchase
(such as invoice, receipt, delivery note) and this guarantee card. The defective goods must be sent to
us at the purchaser's own cost, using the address stated above.
Not liable for printing errors. We reserve the right to make technical modifications. 11/2011 1

The purchaser should state the material defect or manufacturing fault or the symptoms of the fault in as accurate
a manner as possible so that we can check whether our guarantee obligation is applicable.
The goods are transported from the consumer to us and from us to the consumer at the risk of the consumer.
Duration of validity
This declaration only applies to claims made to us during the claim period as stated in this declaration. Die
The claim period is 24 months from the date of purchase of the product by the consumer from a dealer in the
Federal Republic of Germany (date of purchase). If a defect arises after the end of the claim period, or if the
evidence or documents required according to this declaration in order to make the claim valid are not presented
until after this period, then the consumer forfeits any rights or claims from this declaration.
Limitation by lapse of time
If we do not acknowledge the validity of a claim that is properly made under this declaration within the claim
period, all claims based on this declaration expire after six months from the time of claim, but not before the
end of the claim period.
Applicable law
This declaration, and the claims, rights and obligations arising from it, are based exclusively on the applicable
German Law, without the norms of international private law, and excluding UN retail law.
Important safety notes
You have acquired a kit that can be assembled into a fully working RC model - when fitted out with suitable
accessories. However, GRAUPNER has no control over whether you observe the instructions for the installation
and operation of the model or the use and maintenance of the associated components. For this reason
GRAUPNER assumes no liability for losses, damage, or costs, which are incurred due to the incorrect use of
our products or due to improper behaviour on the part of the user, or which are connected with such operation
in any way. Unless otherwise prescribed by binding law, the obligation of GRAUPNER to pay compensation
for any reason whatsoever (including personal injury, death, damage to buildings, damage due to loss of
business or turnover, interruption of business, or other direct or indirect consequent damage) stemming from
the operation of the model is excluded.
The total liability in all cases and under all circumstances is limited to the amount of money that you actually
paid for this model.
This model is started up and operated at the sole and exclusive risk of the operator.
To avoid injuring people and damaging property, it is essential to be careful and thoughtful when
operating your model.
Before operating the model for the first time, check whether the operation of model ships of this kind is covered
by your private liability insurance. If necessary, purchase a special RC model liability insurance policy.
These safety notes must be retained and provided to the buyer if sold to another person.
The following items must be observed:
• The model is not suitable for children under 14 years old.
• Because of the high speed, never operate the model when people or animals are in the water, because
this represents a great danger of injury to them.
• Do not operate your model in nature preserves, landscape protection areas, or water conservation districts.
Find out from your local government which waters are approved for model shipbuilders.
• Never operate the model in salt water.
• Never operate the model in adverse weather conditions, such as rain, thunderstorm, strong wind, or in
high waves or strong currents, et cetera.
• Before you fly the model, check that the radio control system is working reliably, and that all connections
are safe and secure.
• Observe the operating information on the installed remote control system and accessories.
• Ensure that the channel you intend to use is not already in use. Never operate the model if you are not
certain that your channel is free.
• Work on the parts of the drive system only with the motor power supply disconnected.
• When the drive battery is connected, you and other persons must never get near the ship's propeller,
because it poses a substantial risk of injury.
• Do not exceed the recommended operating voltage. A higher voltage can lead to overheating of the mo-
tor or speed controller or cause electrical lines to melt. This can cause the model to be destroyed or
catch fire.
• Make sure all drive components can move freely. This applies especially during operations, because
leaves and other things can get caught in the drive mechanism. In such a case, the motor, the speed
controller, or the rudder servo can be destroyed by an overload.
• Never leave the battery to charge unattended. Observe the instructions for the charger and battery.
• When using a car charger, always charge the battery outside the car.
• Ensure that the servos are not mechanically obstructed at any point in their travel.
• The batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be short-circuited or be exposed to direct contact with
water.
• Let the motor and the speed controller cool off after each trip. Do not touch the hot parts.
• Do not subject the model to intense humidity, heat, cold, vibrations, or dirt.
• When storing the model, remove the rechargeable batteries / batteries and store them so that they can
not be short-circuited.
• The drive battery must always be removed when transporting the model.
• Protect the model, batteries, and RC components against damage and slipping during transport.
• Always make sure that the sheet metal contacts between the RC box and the drive motor are insulated;
never let them come into electrical contact.
• When the model begins to slow down, the drive battery is nearly empty. Sail immediately to shore and
stop operating the model. Before a new trip, the battery must be recharged.
• If you operate the model in moving water (such as a river) be aware that the model can drift away if there
is a malfunction or if the battery runs down.
• When trying to retrieve the model, never put yourself or others in danger.
• Take particular care to ensure that the model is watertight. A model boat can sink if enough water gets
in. Check the model before each trip to see whether there is any damage and whether water can penetrate
through the drive and rudder shafts. In particular, check the rubber seals on the model. The RC box
should also be closed, to ensure that no water can splash in from above. Water damage is not covered
by warranty!
• Secure the cover by inserting the splint through the hole in the mount.
Care and maintenance
• Clean the model carefully after each use. Immediately remove any water that has penetrated using a
dishtowel or something similar. Always leave the cover open for a longer period of time to allow the residual
moisture to dry out.
• Clean the model and the RC components using suitable cleaning agents only. Ask your model shop for
information.
• Lubricate the shaft regularly. Your retailer can provide you with information about suitable types of waterneutral
grease.
• If the model is not to be operated for a considerable time, all the moving parts (shaft, et cetera) must be
disassembled, cleaned, and re-lubricated. All rechargeable and other batteries should also be removed
from the model and transmitter and stored separately.
Important safety and operating information for the RC system
• Always switch the transmitter on first; then switch on the receiver (model)!
• Always switch the receiver off first; then switch off the transmitter!
• Protect all equipment against dust, dirt, humidity, vibrations, and other foreign objects. Never expose the
equipment to excessive heat or cold.
• Avoid impacts and pressure. Always check the equipment for damage to housings and cables.
• Never pull on cables to disconnect them.
• Avoid incorrect polarity and short-circuits of all kinds as well as excess voltage in the power supply. The
devices are not protected against these hazards.
• Use only components specified and approved by GRAUPNER.
• GRAUPNER recommends using only dry cell batteries for the transmitter power supply. Use rechargeable
batteries in this area at your own risk!
• Never use batteries with different energy states (meaning full in combination with empty batteries) or
different types or manufacturers.
• Dry cell batteries for the power supply may never be recharged. Only rechargeable batteries can be recharged.
• The batteries must be adequately charged, and the range of the radio control system must have been
checked. In case of doubt and for the sake of safety, the transmitter and receiver batteries should be replaced
if the state of the batteries is unknown.
• During operations, the transmitter aerial must be securely installed and completely extended.
• Run the receiver aerial only as designed for the model. It should be as far as possible away from power
cables.
• If water has penetrated the RC components, lay them out to dry and send them to the appropriate
GRAUPNER service unit to be checked (see list of responsible service centres at the end of the instructions).
Assembly and operating instructions
Assembly of the propeller
Place the propeller on the shaft and screw it on using the drive dog nut.
Assembly of the rudder
Shove the rudder lever (1) into the hole in the rudder, and fasten the rudder in opening provided by inserting
the metal pin (2) into the opening from above. When everything is fastened, tighten from the other side using
the grub screw.
Final assembly of the rudder
Take the rudder linkage and run it through the rudder mount; let the rudder linkage stick out about 8 to 12
mm; cut off the remaining part of the rudder linkage using pliers. Fasten the rudder linkage by screwing in a
3x3 grub screw.
Connecting the water cooling unit
Place the water cooling tube over the connector located on the top of the rudder; make sure it is tight.
Assembly of the boot stand
Install the boot stand in the sequence illustrated in the drawing. To do so, use fast-setting glue or casein
glue.
6. Inserting the battery
Place the battery into the loops provided in the boat. Make sure to use ONLY a maximum 11.1 V 2100-
4500mAh Lipo.
Not liable for printing errors. We reserve the right to make technical modifications. 11/2011 7

Inserting the receiver
Connect the receiver as per the operating instructions. Be sure you NEVER operate the model if your radio
control system or receiver is not working properly.
When everything is working properly, you can charge the battery and start your maiden voyage with your
model.
Before each trip, make sure that the water cooling tubes are connected.
Water in the RC system can destroy the controller and the receiver. The lateral exit point for the cooling water
and the connections of the motor cooling loop should also be checked before each trip.
Important: Make sure that the motor connector cable is not located in the area of the motor coupling.
Tape the model along the cover to keep water from getting in.
GRAUPNER GmbH & Co. KG D-73230 KIRCHHEIM/TECK GERMANY
Trimming the model
The two Allen bolts on the left side of the shaft need to be loosened and the angle of the drive mechanism
adjusted. In case of waves or strong wind, tilting the drive mechanism down pushes the bow down while
cruising to reduce or even completely prevent hopping.
After making the adjustments, retighten the bolts.
The batteries can also be moved fore or aft.
After each trip, check for any water penetration and remove it.
In particular, any batteries that have gotten wet must be removed from the model and dried.
Maiden voyage
Charge the batteries, and test the functions of the model. Secure the cover with tape, so that it can not fall
down and so that no water can get into the model. Now you can start the maiden voyage.
During the maiden voyage, start slowly; first get familiar with the sailing behaviour. Test the steering behaviour,
stopping distance, and range.
If the model begins to "hop" when running fast, change the position of the drive mechanism until the model
runs smoothly again, or move the batteries forward.
Have fun running your model Watercutter
