3. DESCRIPTION OF AIR EXERCISE<br />

DEMONSTRATION OBSERVATION<br />

1. LEVEL TURN<br />

i. From straight and level flight at cruise power,<br />

Execute a 30º angle of bank medium turn.<br />

i. Before entry:<br />

a. Trim for straight and level.<br />

b. Lookout.<br />

c. Note airspeed before entry.<br />

ii. Entry:<br />

a. Roll into turn – refer to visual horizon<br />

and/or instrument indication.<br />

b. Control co-ordination-aileron and<br />

rudder together.<br />

c. Pitch attitude controlled with elevator.<br />

d. Upon reaching required angle of bank<br />

(30º) and nose attitude, check and<br />

hold.<br />

iii. In the turn.<br />

a. Lookout.<br />

b. Maintain a constant angle of bank,<br />

attitude and balance.<br />

c. Maintain constant nose attitude.<br />

d. Note slightly lower airspeed.<br />

e. Note instrument indications.<br />

f. Do not trim in turn.<br />

iv. Recovery:<br />

a. Rolling out of turn – refer to visual<br />
