3. DESCRIPTION OF AIR EXERCISE<br />

a. APPLICABLE PROCEDURES AND CHECKLISTS<br />

b. AEROPLANE HANDLING TECHNIQUES:-<br />

DEMONSTRATION OBSERVATION<br />

Pre-flight inspection As for day flying, plus:<br />

i. Ensure student has good knowledge of<br />

electrical system and knows position of all<br />

switches, CB’s.<br />

ii. Applicable navigation aids.<br />

iii. Serviceable torch for each crew member.<br />

iv. Check that parking and taxying area is clear<br />

of obstructions.<br />

v. All required lights serviceable.<br />

1. START-UP PROCEDURE As for day flying, plus:<br />

i. Ensure sufficient holding RPM to charge<br />

battery.<br />

ii. After start checks to include aircraft lighting.<br />

2. TAXYING i. Look out.<br />

ii. Judgement of taxying speed at night.<br />

iii. Use of aircraft taxying and landing lights.<br />

iv. Instrument check during taxying.<br />

v. Maintain constant visual such to avoid light<br />
