ahead to 200 ft. agl. and commence a<br />

climbing rate one turn onto the downwind<br />

iii. Wings level on final approach not lower<br />

than 300 ft agl.<br />

i. Select full flap early on final approach.<br />

ii. Trim for short landing final approach<br />

speed.<br />

iii. Adjust approach path with power.<br />

iv. Emergency landing drill – as applicable in<br />

circumstances as per aircraft manual.<br />

v. Carry out a short landing – see Exercise 13<br />

for full details.<br />

vi. PRACTICE PRECAUTIONARY LANDING<br />

– should this be simulated onto terrain not<br />

really suitable for actual landing then at a<br />

suitable safe height, carry out normal goaround<br />

procedure. See Exercise 13 for<br />

details.<br />

ii. Aircraft security.<br />

iii. Report incident by radio or telephone to<br />

ATC and Police.<br />

iv. Note – Student not allowed taking off from<br />

other than licensed airfields in the case of<br />

carrying out a real precautionary landing in<br />

the future.<br />

ii. Possible non-standard circuit pattern, depending on conditions.<br />
