EMERGENCIES<br />

a. Abandoned take off: Causes: Surging engine.<br />

Inadequate Power.<br />

Rough running engine.<br />

Direction control loss.<br />

Zero airspeed indication.<br />

Loss of air pressure.<br />

Door opens during T/off Roll.<br />

Pedestrian crossing.<br />

Animal/ Bird strike.<br />

Aircraft not vacated runway ahead.<br />

b. Engine failure after<br />

take off:<br />

c. Aborted<br />

Landing/Go-Around:<br />

Procedure: Throttle closed.<br />

Brakes as required.<br />

Vacate runway.<br />

Advise ATC.<br />

Lower nose.<br />

Trim for best glide speed.<br />

Select field 30° Left or Right of nose.<br />

Flap as required.<br />

Fuel pump on.<br />

Change tanks.<br />

Try power.<br />

Shut down if unsuccessful.<br />

Door open.<br />

Passenger brace.<br />

Sideslip if required to loose height.<br />

May Day call if time permits.<br />

Land at slowest safe airspeed.<br />

Causes: X-wind out of A/C limits.<br />

X-wind out of pilot ability.<br />

Runway incursion.<br />

Approach;<br />

• Too high.<br />

• Too fast.<br />

• Too low.<br />

• Off centreline.<br />

A/C undercarriage malfunction.<br />

Decision height not been 100’ AGL.<br />

Full power – Level out – move to right of runway.<br />

Safe airspeed attained.<br />

Retract flap to optimum for climb.<br />

Climb straight ahead.<br />

Carry out vital actions.<br />
