revolt was widespread and complete, though <strong>it</strong>s justice<br />

capac<strong>it</strong>y <strong>of</strong> defendants, made out a serious grievance<br />

Given at Kirkdale, the Sunday next after the Feast <strong>of</strong> St. Luke the<br />
Evangelist, in the fourteenth year <strong>of</strong> King Edward III. after the Conquest.<br />
"Thomas del More in ye 19 yere <strong>of</strong> R. 2. anno 1396 held ye manor <strong>of</strong> Kerk- Moore Papers,<br />
dell." The lordship remained in the family till the early part <strong>of</strong> the eighteenth [53].<br />
