However, the effect of potting mixture on seedling height, shoot mass and root mass was evident in the present study. Use of potting mixture with paddy husk as a substitute for gave the better shoot length which was significantly superior over normal potting mixture of Soil: Sand: FYM in the proportion of 1:1:1. The effect of potting mixture on total seedling biomass was not revealed in the study and interestingly, the use of inorganic fertilizer did not influence the seedling growth.
