enhance the meaning of the signs. Tests have shown the inclusion of the flame symbol significantly
assists in recognition and understanding of the meaning of the escape symbol.

and ISO 7010. The emergency escape signs shown here fully conform to the Health and Safety
(Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 which stipulate that all Health, Safety, Emergency
escape and Fire equipment signs MUST include a pictorial symbol.
