Following the linking of explosions
to the storage and handling
of combustible materials, the
Dangerous Substances and
Explosive Atmospheres Regulations
2002 (DSEAR) have been
introduced in order to comply with
the Explosive Atmosphere Directive
(ATEX 137). Since 30th June 2003,
any hazardous place will need
to be classified into zones and
marked with an “EX” sign at the
point of entry.
