The lack of effective, consistant signs and safety flags on UK beaches has been identified over the past few
years as a major contributing factor to many deaths and serious injuries. All of the signs on these pages are
of a standard set by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to provide beach operators with sufficient
information to set up effective and consistant sign and flag systems on their beaches.
