Safety lock-out isolation system
Any Person carrying out Repairs/Maintenance or Removing Guards
on Plant or Equipment MUST FIRST LOCK-OUT the electrical
isolator in the OFF position, or secure machines by removing keys
and keeping those keys with you.
Release all forms of Stored Energy e.g.: Compressors, Hydraulic
Pressure.
TEST all equipment being worked on before work commences.
The Lock-Out safety system must be used at all times to safeguard
all employees and contractors on this site. Failure to carry out these
instructions WILL LEAD TO DISMISSAL, without caution.
NEVER carry out repairs/maintenance or remove any guards on
your plant or equipment, without first locking out the isolator in the
OFF position with the padlock provided.
NEVER start work on a piece of plant or equipment already locked
out without first adding your own padlock to the lock-out hasp in
use even if several other persons have already locked out.
NEVER leave your key on top of the isolator or with another
person whilst you are doing a job it must be kept on your person.
NEVER unlock if you are the last one on the job until you are
satisfied that all guards are secured back in their correct position
and the plant is safe.
NEVER unlock your padlock and leave it lying around – return it
with your key and lockgard to the correct place on either the panel
or your personal locker – you will need them again.

Lock-out Station
Photo on left shows hard wearing “Lock out station” with chrome plated
steel hooks on a 3mm thick aluminium back board. Custom-made to your
specification.

Sign size coding is made up in most cases
of 2 letters. The first letter indicates the
length, the second indicates the height.
For example, if the sign size is RG, the sign
will be 600mm length x 200mm height.

corresponding sizes.
