CHROMOJET
ChromoJET is a printing system
using computer controlled highspeed
valves. The pressurized dye
is injected with high precision deep
into the face of the pile without any
machine parts touching the fabric.
Deepest color penetration and
excellent print definition are the
results.
PRINT SPEED
Production speed is almost proportional
to the number of jets used
per color: More jets offer higher
production speed. Print resolution is
the second main influencing factor.
FACTS
In 2012 about 170 m sqm of carpet
have been printed with ChromoJET
digital printing systems.

THERE ARE 2 BASIC TYPES OF CHROMOJET SYSTEMS
25 dpi
76 dpi
ChromoJET800 - 50/76 dpi
This printer type is using the process
color system, where the actual shade
is achieved on the surface of the pile
fabric using dots of basic shades.
In ChromoJET process color printing
a set of 8, 12 or 14 basic shades are
used to generate all color shades on
the carpet using small dots - just like
an office inkjet printer.
Process color printing is clearly superior
to spot color printing, where
each color must be pre-mixed in
advance.

ChromoJET400 - 25 dpi
This ChromoJET type is printing with
a resolution of 25 dpi.
Dyes are pre-mixed – for each shade
the dye must be prepared in advance.
ChromoJET400 printers represent the
current standard in the world carpet
printing industry.
ChromoJET800 76 dpi
Advantages of ChromoJET800
• Easy sampling and economic small
production (even orders for one
piece can be realized economically)
• Unlimited design and color variety
• No change of colors - always apply
the same set of dyes (environmen
tal friendly)
There are also some disadvantages
• Less penetration on light shades
• Slower speed in comparison to
25 dpi printing using the same
number of jets

THE MOST ECONOMICAL DIGITAL TEXTILE PRINTER
COLARIS is the high-performance
digital inkjet printer for the textile
industry.
ZIMMER AUSTRIA | Kufstein offers
the COLARIS with a production speed
of more than 900 sqm/h. The machine
is available in printing widths of
1800, 2600 and 3200 mm.
In combination with the in-line
pre-treatment (patented) COLARIS
has become the synonym for lowest
production costs.
THE SELECTION OF THE RIGHT
PRINTHEAD IS A STRATEGIC DECISION
Our target is to print on medium to
heavy substrates, which can’t be covered
by other inkjet technologies in
an efficient and economical way. We
have chosen a printhead with a medium
droplet size in the range of 12
to 36 picoliters. With their capability
of producing three steps of shades,
our printheads achieve excellent results
for a wide range of applications
like decorative and home textile,
including upholstery, velour, plush,
fleece, curtain, terry towel, flags and
banner and even technical textiles
and automotive fabrics. Printing with
the most economical system available
is our promise.
Nevertheless, the selected printhead
technology does not limit the
COLARIS to the above mentioned
applications. The COLARIS is also
well established in the fashion print
market already.
Due to its modular concept, COLARIS
is the perfect solution for custom
made printing plants dedicated to
niche markets.

COLARIS-NF - THE DIGITAL PRINTING SYSTEMS FOR NARROW FABRICS
Eti enne Steveninck, with a wide
experience in the fi eld of narrow
fabrics processing, joined Zimmer
in 2011 as product manager for the
new COLARIS-NF project.
The goal was to develop an industrial
digital printer which can print on
both sides of narrow fabrics.
In mid-2012 we installed the prototype
machine at Gueth & Wolf (Germany)
– a major manufacturer of high
end technical narrow fabric products.
During the pilot period Gueth & Wolf
provided us with a lot of feedback,
wishes and recommendati ons. The
result was COLARIS-NF.

INSTALLATIONS
At the end of January 2013, a
COLARIS-NF was installed at Schoutteten
& Froidure (France) - to print
on elasti c and non-elasti c narrow
fabrics from polyester.
Within one day the printer was
installed and started up.
A commercial COLARIS-NF printer
was installed early in 2013 at Gueth
& Wolf (Germany), integrated into
an existi ng traditi onal screen print
line.
